Greg Stein Ayurvedic Practitioner
Welcome To

Vedic Healing Arts

My name is Greg Stein. I am a Practitioner of Ayurveda and Vedic Astrology and my mission is to share this ancient wisdom to help you create balance in the modern world

Training & Experience

My journey into Vedic wisdom began in 2005 with traditional Satyananda Yoga classes and training. Since then, I’ve traveled to India seven times, spending over a year in total at Rikhia Peeth—one of India’s most renowned and rigorous ashrams. My deep immersion in Yoga naturally led me to explore its sister sciences, Ayurveda and Vedic Astrology.

In 2014, I was formally initiated into Karma Sannyasa in India, dedicating my life to practicing and sharing the wisdom I’ve received. Building upon a strong foundation under master teachers, I went on to:

  • Earn my undergraduate degree in Music Therapy from Eastern Michigan University (2015).
  • Receive six years of intensive, traditional training in Vedic Astrology under the expert guidance of Penny Farrow.
  • Study Ayurveda at the Ayurvedic Institute with Dr. Vasant Lad (2015–2016).
  • Study Sanskrit—the sacred language of the Vedic sciences—first at the Ayurvedic Institute, then at the Vedanta Society of Portland (2020).
  • Complete the Ayurvedic Health Practitioner training at New World Ayurveda School (2024) under the brilliant guidance of Dr. Paul Dugliss.

Certification

Ayurveda and Vedic Astrology are not currently licensed or credentialed professions in the United States. However, I have undergone extensive, rigorous training, equivalent to a PhD-level education. My Ayurveda training is recognized by leading professional organizations, and I have studied Vedic Astrology under one of the most highly regarded teachers in the country. My focus has always been on deep study, practical application, and serving my clients with integrity. I choose to let my knowledge, experience, and dedication to sharing the ancient Vedic wisdom speak for themselves.

My Personal Journey

My path to healing and spirituality began with a life-changing event at age 12 — the sudden and unexpected loss of my younger brother, Jeremy, in a swimming accident at summer camp.. Throughout my teens, I searched for healing, but it wasn’t until my first yoga class at age 17 that I truly felt I had found an answer – I discovered practices which began the process of releasing the immense stress and grief I had been holding on to.

Yoga, Ayurveda, and Vedic Astrology are all deeply connected, and as I’ve continued to study and integrate these traditions into my life, I’ve witnessed their potential for creating profound transformation — not just within myself, but in the lives of those I’ve had the honor to guide as well.

I’ve learned through personal experience that deep healing is possible, and it’s this understanding that fuels my passion for helping others on their own path to wholeness.

Ayurveda – Holistic Health and Wellness

Ayurveda is “The Science of Life”, and an ancient system of holistic health and healing that offers timeless wisdom and invaluable insights to help anyone create a state of balance and blissful wellbeing in body, mind and spirit.

Although Ayurveda is a knowledge that was well-preserved in India, I believe the principles it puts forth are universal – every ancient culture had its equivalent. The knowledge and wisdom of how to live in harmony with nature may be explained in various ways, and different languages – yet the underlying messages are based on the same essential truths.

Vedic Astrology – Illuminating Life’s Journey

For thousands of years, astrology has been a vital part of the Vedic tradition, offering profound insights into the patterns of destiny that shape our lives. The birth chart serves as a map, revealing karmic influences and providing an invaluable tool for deeper self-awareness. This understanding allows us to align with the natural flow of life, fostering peace, harmony, and personal growth.
